WETIA Participates in Recent AI-Focused Conferences

The World Evangelical Theological Institute Association (WETIA) recently took part in two significant events exploring the role of artificial intelligence in education, ministry, and global innovation. These engagements reflect WETIA’s ongoing work at the intersection of theology and emerging technologies.

ICETE Global Consultation — Tirana, Albania

At the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE) Consultation in Tirana, Albania, Dr. Walker Tzeng served as a member of the Technology in Learning Impact Group. In this role, he helped guide subgroups working specifically on artificial intelligence and its implications for theological education. Discussions focused on how institutions can appropriately adopt AI tools, develop faculty capacity, and ensure that technology supports rather than replaces the human elements of theological formation.

AI Investment Summit 2025 — UC Berkeley

WETIA also participated in the AI Investment Summit held at the University of California, Berkeley. This summit brought together leaders in technology, research, and entrepreneurship to consider how AI is shaping global industries and future development. WETIA attended to gain broader insight into the direction of AI innovation and to understand how trends in technology and investment may influence education, ministry training, and academic environments.
