March 15, 2016
The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) hosted its International Leadership Forum (ILF) in Seoul, Korea from February 29 through March 4, 2016. The ILF consists of representatives from regional alliances, commissions, initiatives, task forces, and global partners of WEA. Representing the World Evangelical Theological Institute Association (WETIA) was Executive Director Dr. Walker Tzeng.
Through the 5-day conference, participants focused on the theme of ‘Partners in the Gospel: Building His Church’, taken from Paul’s letter to the Philippians, where he writes: “In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Chapter 4, verses 4-6, NIV)
Throughout the conference were reports on ministry activities from around the world as well as table group discussion on relevant topics affecting evangelicals around the world. In addition, the location of the conference in Korea allowed participants to visit and pray at the DMZ where they witnessed first-hand the tension that has existed in the country for many decades.
In addition, Dr. Tzeng was able to interact with numerous representatives from theological institutions and educational initiatives from around the world in the context of education technology.
